How to prepare for an overseas trip as a single woman

Many people have the tendency to pack way more clothing and items than they require for a vacation. There are others who think it’s okay to pack their entire walk-in closet in twelve suitcases for a three-day trip. Please don’t be one of those people – it can cause a multitude of issues when travelling.

Instead of trying to pack something for every occasion, pack multi-purpose clothing that is appropriate for a variety of places and activities. The less you need to carry with you while travelling, the easier it is going to be for you physically and financially.

Not only are you going to have to haul all of those suitcases yourself, but most airlines will also charge you a generous fee for each one loaded on the plane.

Plan for the flight

Since you are travelling overseas, you will spend a lot of hours either in an airport or on a plane, so plan accordingly. You must check which items are and aren’t allowed on the plane, or even at the terminal, so you don’t run into problems en route.

You most likely won’t be able to bring food or drinks with you on the plane, so it is important to prepare beforehand. There will be many different places to grab food and drinks on your travels, so take advantage when you are able to.

Pack your essential comfort items as well, including the limited selection of toiletries that are allowed. Twelve or more hours on a plane will have you screaming for some of these.

Travelling overseas by yourself can be an amazing experience, as long as you are prepared and armed with all the knowledge you need. It may seem like a lot of work to plan and prepare so much for a trip, but it will be worth it when you create memories that will last a lifetime.
